Fishing

Inland

Visitors to Bragleenbeg can fish for brown trout in the bordering rivers and the nearby loch. Salmon & sea trout can also be caught if you’re lucky! (But must be returned.)

The best spot is in our field where the river meets the loch but we have the rights to fish anywhere on the loch and along the eastern shore.

Keen anglers wanting to venture further afield can find other favoured paid-for fishing spots in the vicinity:

Loch Nell, Loch Avich, Loch na Sreinge – all managed by Oban and Lorn Angling Club – day, 3-day or week long permits giving access to 20 lochs/rivers.
Loch Awe – https://www.lochawe.net/permits/ licences can be bought in the village store in Loch Awe itself.

See the guidelines opposite for the rules by which all fishermen in Argyll & Bute and Scotland must abide.

Sea

If you want to head out into the waves to try your hand at mackerel fishing then boat tours depart from Oban. Try the 3 hour fishing trip advertised by Argyll Sea Tours or  take a trip from Craobh Haven (30 mins drive south) in the Jenny Wren the owners of which will also do bespoke tours.
