Enjoy the fresh air, water views and wildlife

There is plenty to explore not far from the doorstep.

Our Field at the Loch

The very shortes of walks away down the (v quiet) road is our field at the top of the loch. There is parking available if you’d like to carry down anything heavery and there you can build a fires, toast sausages and marshmallows and enjoy the sun setting over the hills at the end of the Glen. Our tree house is popular with younger visitors.

Nearby Walks

There are some fantastic walking routes in the immediate vicinity. Please note they will all require stout footwear.

  • Around Loch Scammadale

A circular route along the Glen road and then back around the loch via the northern shore which takes about 2.5 hours from the doorstep to doorstep

  • Musdale & Kilchrenan

A path over the hills which connects with a road so you could be met to get a lift back!

  • Climb Carn Dearg

The hill opposite the house is around a 2.5 hour round trip and boasts a spectacular view from the trig point. Carry a stone up to place on the cairn at the top.

  • Loch Avich

The old “Coffin route” called the String of Lorn that takes you past the cairn where Cailean Mor was killed by the MacDougalls in 1296. Passes the picture postcard Loch na Sreinge and some wonderful fairy falls that are perfect for a picnic and plunge!

As ever we ask visitors to ensure they keep dogs on leads at all times, close any gates they pass through and leave no trace.
